What's "Setsubun"?

What's "Setsubun"?

Hey, guys! How's going?
Today is the 1st day of February!

I'm going to tell you guys about our traditional events in February!!

Setsubun literally means "division of seasons".

"What is happening on the day?"

 When is that?
'Setsubun' is a festival held on February 3 or 4, one day before the start of spring according to the Japanese luna calendar.

What does everyone do?
The most commonly performed ritual is the throwing of roasted beans around one's house and at temples.

at
The last day of the winter!
When throwing the beans, you are supposed to shout Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi”

Devils out, happiness in!

Afterwards people eat as many beans as their age for wishing your health .

We have many events in Japan.
I'd like to share more of them to you.
See you next time!
